Locations of Babylon 5
Babylon 5: The titular location. Babylon 5 is a diplomatic space station built for the purpose of allowing the races to work out diplomatic problems and as a common place for all the races to have a voice. Most of the action of the show takes place on Babylon 5. Babylon 5 is split into diplomatic quarters, Command and Control, the residential areas, the markets and commercial zones, and the slums/down below.
Babylon 4: The predecessor to Babylon 5, Babylon 4 disappeared right after it was completed. It was pulled through time to be used in the Great War against the shadows as it was the largest and most powerful of the Babylon stations. It ends up the most important part of the Minbari religion as it was what brought Valen the savior to them.
Centauri prime: Homeworld of the Centauri. Decadent and lavish, Centauri is primarily a desert world covered in glittering cities of jewels and silks. It evokes the Persian empire at its height. Not seen much till halfway through the show, it becomes a major location when the Centuari once again rise to power. It also becomes a haven for the shadows in the last 2 seasons, using their power to take it over.
Minbar: Homeworld of the Minbari. A beautiful and cultured planet of spires, this planet is a cultural and intellectual center for the Minbari race. It is not seen much in the show, but of what we see is the large structures of bureaucracy and the monuments to peace. The planet is split up into clan holdings as well as the governance areas of the three castes.
Narn: Homeworld of the Narn. Once a lush and beautiful planet with a peaceful people. The Centauri enslaved the Narn race and stripped their planet bare. The planet is now an inhospitable planet of blasted wastelands and underground bunkers. Over the course of the show the Narn are portrayed as a warlike people who are not to be trusted. Halfway through the show the Narn homeworld is bombed from orbit, massacring billions, leaving the Narn once again as slaves of the Centauri. Made even more inhospitable by these actions the planet is virtually unlivable except for underground.
